[Facts] Tess/ Tessa
Tess / Tessa
I have seen this name given the meaning of 'four or related to four'.
The reasoning behind this is the Greek word for the number four is tes-sa-rah or Tessara - Tessa - Tes.
What is the merit behind this meaning? Is it frivolous or is it legit.

My parents named me Tess... they say it was meant to be a short form of Theresa but my official birthname is Tess.
I don't know about the greek meanings but Tressa means third in celtic
Indeed, "tessara" is four in classical Greek ("tessera" in mondern contemporary Greek). However I have found no evidence that there is amn etymological connection, and feel it is quite unlikely.
I have found no evidence of Tessa as classical Greek name - although Taessa is recorded as a Greek name.

I found the name Taessa in *A Lexicon of Greek Names*. I like it too, it is an extinct name well worth resurrecting! Unfortunately I dont have a clue as to its meaning!
Yep, I live in Greece. You should all come for the Olympic Games next year :)

That's the plan!. The best part of having family in Greece is I won't have to scramble to find a hotel in the Olympic rush. The last time I was in Greece was five years ago... Too long!
It is turly the most beautiful country in the world, and I don't just say that because I am Greek, I've been to Italy, Spain and Australia and they don't compare to the splendor and history that Greece has.
Yiasas, Sto Kaylo.
