Ole!
I was wondering if their are any names that are strictly Mexican, and not spanish.
Or some names that are very common in Mexico.

There are quite a few names that I would consider to be "Mexican" because they are names that were originally used by Aztec and Mayan cultures. Being a Central American, I learnt of these, at school and can only remember a few at the moment, such as:
- XOCHITL
f Native American, Spanish
Means "flower" in Nahuatlan. *from behindthename.com*
Pronounced "shosh - e - tl"
- IXMUCANE
f One of the thirteen Maya gods who created human beings.
Proud to say this is a Guatemalan name(central American, but close enough...
Pronounced "ish - mook - a - nai
- BALAM
m Also Mayan Mythology. Means "jaguar"
- KUKUMATZ
m A Mayan sky god, one of the seven gods who created the world and the humans.
Any way, these are names that I have actually know to be given to "real" people... But you can amuse yourself by visiting

I just wanted to let you know of this:
XOCHIPILLI m New World Mythology
Means "flower prince" in Nahuatlan. He was the Aztec goddess of love, flowers, song, and games, the twin brother of
Xochiquetzal.
It says HE was the aztec GODDESS
I found it slightly contradictory, lol
