I much prefer Maia over Maya. I pronounce them the same. Mara is nice, but I prefer Maia to it. I dislike Mia, but I like Mina, Mira, and Mila. I'm a bit neutral to Maeve.
I prn. Maia and Maya the same, but I prefer the latter because of the Mayan peoples. I like the name a great deal.
I like Mara as well. It sounds cute, yet strong to me.
Mia and Mina are very nice, imo, but I don't care much for Mira or Mila. If I had to choose between the two though, I'd pick Mira.
Maeve is all right, but nms.

Hi there! LOL this post reminds me of one of my own recently: which do you like better, Amina, Amira, Amia, Amara, Amaya, Ayana, Adara, Amisha? Anyway, I like all of those names, they're all lovely. I pronounce Maya and Maia the same way: MYE-uh. I prefer the spelling Maya just because, but Maia is nice too. I also love Moira and Maura in addition to Mara.
I pronounce Maia and Maya the same. Maia is more Greek/Roman and Maya more Indian/Native American. In Sweden Maja is pronounced the same way and is a form of Maria.
Mara means "nightmare" in Swedish, I would prefer Miriam, Maria or Mariah. I like Mira, Mia and Mila. Mina is ok but I prefer Minna (I don't pronounce those two the same).
Maeve is pretty and Irish but I prefer names with more than one syllable, easier to shout :)

I pron. Maia & Maya the same (mie-ah), and prefer the spelling Maya. I love Mara (mah-rah) but the meaning is sad. Mia (mee-ah or mie-ah) is nmsaa, Mina is cute, Mira is nice and Mila is very beautiful. Maeve is original.

I pronunce Maia and Maya the same, but I prefer the spelling Maia. I think it looks nicer and it's the proper spelling in Catalan. I really love it, but sadly enough there are these OOOOLD cartoons that my parents use to watch when they were kids but that are still on-air (!) about the "bee Maya". Everybody thinks about the bee when you tell Maia!
Mara is nice too, but the meaning disappoints me.
About the others, as I told you, I love Mia, and Mira as well.
