I've always loved it for a boy. I'm not crazy about using it for a girl. It bothers me that so many great boys' names are being taken over as girls' names.

I like it for boys, but I actually do prefer it for girls. Sorry!

I don't care for the name, but I'm so glad you'd use it for a boy. With me, I always assume Riley is a boy, and I always cringe when I find out it's for a girl.

I think Riley is ok. And I hear it more often for boys than girls around here. I do prefer it on a boy.

Having gone through life with a unisex name, I can only remember one occasion where a teacher I hadn't met yet assumed I was a boy because of my name. And Riley, sort of like my name is closer to being equal for both genders than a lot of other names (I.E. Madison, Delaney, Kennedy, etc...).

To me, Riley is completely masculine. I find it trendy/trashy on a girl, but for a boy, it would be lovely.

I think it's really nice for a boy. It is popular for girls so I probably would assume it's a girl at first hearing the name. But it would be so refreshing to find out that it was a boy. To me it is unisex-can be either masculine or feminine sounding.

It doesn't seem either masculine or feminine to me. That isn't necessarily a bad thing to me, but I dislike Riley's sound. Yes, a boy named Riley might be assumed to be female, but for the most part people would just refrain from guessing either way, as it's so popular on both genders.

Riley is my grandfather's middle name, and I honestly can't see it on a girl at all. I'd like to use it in his honour someday, because I love his full name--it just rolls off the tongue.

I think that if you name a boy Riley, he might have a few problems with the fact that his name is shared by female classmates, but in the end, I don't think it'll cause all that much trouble.

Riley is a great name for a boy! Don't let the fact that it is more popular on girls stop you from using it; help show that it can still be a boy's name!
