[Opinions] Twin name themes
I know that most people here dislike themey names for twins such as Deanna and Breanna, or Faith and Hope. I don't like them myself. However, what do you think of the names listed as "twin names" on this site? (http://www.behindthename.com/twins.php if you haven't looked at them before). Some of them I don't like (Amy and May, Dolly and Lloyd, Aidan and Nadia) because they're just playing around with the letters. However, I think in some ways it would be nice to have a connection between twin names, as long as it wasn't obvious. For example, I like Eve and Zoë a lot, and also Brendan and Sarah. Something where the meanings are the same (or related) but in different languages. What do you think?~ Caitlín

I don't mind a connection. As long as the names don't sound the same and the connection isn't glaringly obvious.eg: Jonathan and Naomi - both Hebrew and biblical. Though most people wouldn't be walking around with that information in their head. :o)I like:
Jonathan and Matthew
Brendan and Sarah
Deborah and Melissa
Melanie and PhoebeDon't like:
Cara and Mia - if one died you have lost a part of you 'my beloved'. Fine so twins are supposed to be close, but they are separate identities too.
Anagram names - a bit too much for me. eg: Aidan and Nadia, Dolly and Lloyd, Amy and May.
Aurora and Dawn - as Aurora means dawn then Dawn is above Aurora because one name 'means' the other childs name, as an English speaker. (am I actually making sense?) Same with Hannah and Grace.

I don't usually like themed names for twins; however, occasionally (depending on the names) I do like names that start with the same letter. Off the list on this site, I like Grace & Hannah...I love both names. I also like Jonathan & Matthew. Deborah & Melissa is nice too, but I personally prefer the spelling Debra.

I like the idea of having a connection between the names as long as it's not too obvious. Both of your examples sound nice together.
I love Cara and Mia (although that may be a little much for some people), Columba and Jemima, Grace and Hannah...
