[Opinions] Canadian Hockey Player's New Baby

Not a good combo imo
Both names are beautiful and classy. But every name nerd knows that Isabella is a form of Elisabeth. But that's what's happening when you go by sound alone and don't care about meanings and origin.
Even worse is Bella and Beth, way too similar. There are so many other nn for Elisabeth and they had to choose Beth (Elsa, Elsie, Ellie, Lisa, Lily, Libby etc).

2 Things
1. The Edmonton Oilers suck (GO CANUCKS GO) & 2. Typical Redneck (being a bit sarcastic, I kind of like the guy), his daughters have the same name. However, I like both names (although I prefer Isabelle) just not as a sibset, like Ian & John.
Inside of me there is a skinny girl, screaming to get out but I can usually shut her up with cookies!

Seeing as Elisabeth and Isabella come from the same source, it's like naming one daughter Anne and the other Hannah. Couldn't he be more original?
Of course, it's unlikely that he's aware of this. Beth and Bella sound very, very different to me, in terms of what sorts of people each may be--but that has no bearing on the children. It just sort of weirds me out, because the full names match like furniture in a house designed by Martha Stewart, but the nicknames have completely different feels to them.
Weird. I'm so glad I wouldn't have two kids with just about the same names.

I think Elisabeth and Isabella go nice together, even though I think Isabella is actually a form of Elisabeth... still, it's nice. Beth and Bella are both cute names, but I'm not too fond of the B theme.

I love it! Of course I prefer Bess as a nn for Elisabeth over Beth, but Beth is still cute. Elisabeth and Isabella make a great "formal" set and Beth and Bella make a great nickname set. I think they did a wonderful job with names. :)
Chelsea Nicole (80 days til my 21st birthday!)
Proud big sister to David Thomas (18) and Luke Joseph (14)!
Go Cubs! Especially my "boyfriend" Mark Prior. Yay, he's back! :)

I guess he will have lots of time to spend at home helping out now, eh? Since there is no hockey in the foreseeable future!
Anyway, Elisabeth is nice, but the "s" spelling is getting to be quite trendy. I despise the nn Beth. It just sounds horrible to my ears.
Isabella is also pretty. Bella and Beth are way too close. They should call the baby by a different nn (Lissy?)

It sounds nice, but Elisabeth and Isabella are the same name! They sound very different, granted, but really now!
Beth and Bella are a bit cutesy for me, but aren't that bad as nns.
