[Opinions] Re: recent birth announcements
Girls:
Elsie - This sounds like a nn to me: too cutseyHoney Chanel - sisters Atlanta and Jayda, brothers Corey and Rhys, mother Kerry - horrible/ embarassing. Poor kid! [IMO] Rhys + Kerry are okTrinity Bex - siblings Ethan and Sydney - I like Ethan, but none of the others. Bex is ok only as a nn for Rebecca imoHolly Emma - brother Brandon - Not wonderfully keen on Holly. I like Emma, though it is possibly uber-popular. I don't think the name flows + I don't like Brandon.Rosie Amber - I like this, though I prefer Rosie as a nn for Rose.Bailey Kate - Bailey is nms at all (reminds me of Baileys, the drink) + I don't like Kate as a fn.Sienna Eve - Eve is ok, but I don't like SiennaEsther - sister Martha - I like these bothFreya Jane - sister Tamzin, parents Nic and Michelle - I like Freya Jane a lot. Prefer Tamsin (with an S). I like Nicolas, but am not too keen on Michelle.Sophie Alana - parents Debi and Mick - I think this is very pretty.Katie May - parents Gareth and Karen. I prefer Katie as a nn for Katherine (any spelling)Boys:
Sonnie - IMO this is a term of endearment, or what old people call boys whose names they can't remember. I don't think it works as a real name at all.Samuel James - brother Joshua - Classic but inspired. I like Joshua too.Reese Richard. I don't think the alliteration works here. The names don't flow together, nor do i really like either of them.Morgan James William - James William would have been nice, but am not overly enamored by Morgan.Charles Wilfred - parents Alison and David - I like these all, though to me Alison is a little boring.Owen Andrew - parents Darren and Kelly - I think Andrew Owen would flow better, but i guess it depends on the surname. Darren is growing on me, but I don't like Kelly.Finley Thomas - sister Lauren, parents Gareth and Carla - I like all these a lot, with the possible exception of Garreth, but its not bad.Twins:
Eleanor Felicity and Thomas Benedict - Very niceTriplets:
Reece, Kieran and Trey - sisters Saffron, Abbie and Sacha - Don't like Reece (Prefer Rhys, but even this is not really my style), Kieren is ok. To me a tray is something on which food/ plates are carried, not even a possible homophone of a name! And triplets are such a wonderful opportunity for using lots of lovely names! :-(
