[Opinions] Diego
What do you think about Diego for a non-hispanic boy?

I have a hard time picturing it on a non-Latino/Hispanic person. (Sorry, I have forgotten the correct usage of those terms. I usually just say Latino)
I guess it depends on where you live. If you're in the US and in an area where there are few people of Hispanic descent, I'd kind of disapprove of it at first, but that's probably because I've spent my life in California and Texas, where being named Diego seems to me to mean you at least have Latinos / Hispanics in your family. If your family has a lot of Hispanic friends, I could see using it easily. eta: And I don't actually disapprove regardless: that's just my knee jerk reaction, to find it confusing.
Realistically, there is no reason not to use it for, let's just say, a kid of white West European descent.. even if there's no Spanish in him. But I think there could be a slight twinge of negative reaction to it for some people, because of the impression of co-optation. Your mileage may vary.
I think it's a great name.

Personally, it sounds like a dog's name
Especially after watching the movie Snow Dogs a couple years ago. It doesn't seem like a real name. Sort of like Fido and Rover.

I like it. Isn't it a form of James?
Odd and off-topic, but I used the name Diego on here as an alias for a Nick I know a few months back.
