My husband is called shuga-wakun in cherokee meaning horse, or litterally large dog. This is what the Osage and Cherokee nations used for horse. My husband and I are avide horse lover/owners/trainers... I was wondering if there is a name in any of the midwestern native american dialect for a female horse or mare. I would be interested in hearing form anyone familiar with any of the planes or south central dialects of our native american culture.
