It's nice. Old fashioned and simple.
*Points to previous post* Expansion on Henry -> Harry
Actually, Harry was the normal English form of Henry first. Later, English-speakers adopted Henry. But they kept Harry around too, now more often as a nn for Henry. The "nn for Henry" Harry became popular, and eventually swamped the "English form of Henry" Harry completely; now many, if not most people think Harry's always been a nn for Henry only.
Later still, Harry became an accepted nn for Harold. Though, if its maddening popularity in the Harry Potter fandom as a full name for Harry (whose full name is, canonically, just Harry James Potter), the "nn for Harold" Harry is becoming popular too.
I wonder which form of Harry will triumph in another 300 years' time, lol.
