[Facts] Corinne
Out of curiosity, how do you pronounce the feminine name Corinne? Is it Coreen or Cor-rinn?

Okay look..I am a student and I have gone through my whole life being called different things and having my name spelled wrong - its completely annoying! Well anyways it is spelled the way you all have it..it is pronouced "core" as in an apple...and "in" as in you walk in the door. So (Core-In" or also (cor-rin). thankz ppl! bye
Since it's my name, I'd like to respond before reading other's comments.
It's Cor-rinn--or something like that spelling. Have had to deal with the erroneous
pronunciation all my life!

I think it just depends on how you want to prounce it. I've heard it both ways!
I know a girl called Corinna (cor-RINN-na) so I would probably say cor-Rinn!

There was a rather bleaty pop song in the sixties which moaned: Cor-REEN, Cor-REEN-a for days and then went away.
Only one I've ever known was a Cor-EEN. And I always say Cor-EEN-a in the Robert Herrick poem, probably because EEN sounds wheedling and RIN sounds brisk and businesslike, though conventional wisdom has it that he would have said: Cor-RIN-a.

Right on!

I've never been accused of the former . . .

I've had a classmate with that name and I've always called it Cor-rinn.
My name is Corinne and it's pronounced "Cor-een". It really bothers me to be called "Cor-in" because I agree that it sounds business-like and formal. I believe it's the french pronounciation and phonetically correct way to pronounce it, yet it's not my name. It's Cor-een. Thanks!!
