Crittenden is a county and a city as far as google.com is concerned. I think it is also a last name. Several of my relatives in England received their mother's maiden last names as their first name. The only other think I've heard that may (or may not) help is that names such as christiansen are danish (as opposed to christianson which is dutch, i think).
Out of curiosity are you another Jessalyn? I was hopeful due to the Y at the end of your posting name :)
