[Opinions] ESMÉE or ESMÉ
How do you pn both of these names is it Ez-mai?
Replies
A friend just had a baby and named her Esme. They pronounce it EZ-may
Esmee (feminine) could be EZ-mee or EZ-may whereas Esme (traditionally masculine but now more feminine) is EZ-may. However, most people will pronounce both as EZ-may and I don't think its worth the hassle to pronounce it any other way - many will assume that EZ-mee is incorrect and illiterate (even though I prefer that pronounciation).

This may be an English pron, but I used to babysit a girl called Esme, and have subsequently met 2 more, all who pron. it Ez-mee.
People in Lincolnshire pronounce them both ez-MEE too
sorry that should read EZ-mee
The only pron. I've heard is EZ-may...

I say ez-MAY...(m)
I like either as a middle name--Esmee for a girl and Esme for a boy.
