I don't think it particularly matters if you name your child an ethnic name. It may confuse some people, but I knew a girl called Sonnai (prn 'son' 'eye'), and (allegedly a Japanese name) and she was as caucasian as you get, and the name suited her perfectly.

However, I don't think it would be appropriate to lie about your own ethnic background, because that shows a deceptive and sneaky personality imo.
