This name is very, very weird on a Jewish guy, expecially a religious one. I looked on several Jewish sites and didn't find anything close to Spartan...
It reminds of Shprintza, but I doubt there is a connection... Some non Jewish names like Alexander, Caesar or Julius have been added to the normal "pool" of usable names (to honour Alexander the Great and Caius Julius Caesar's kindness to Jews), but Spartan... I don't see...
