Help[Facts] Irex
Someone posted this question some time ago. He posted as a reply to someone else's post, though. He asked:

I thought it might have been overlooked because of the way it was posted, and I'd like to know too, but I have not found anything except that it was used as a genus name for a type of fish in the 19th c. I can't find any indication that it's Latin, although it looks Latin. Anyone have any knowledge?
