[Opinions] Maude
Hi everybody. I have been away. Hope u all had a good christmas. What do you think of the name Maude. I am crazy in love with it at the moment with the middle name Evangeline. It is definately really unusual (in England) although it is apparently popular in France my family is from there a few generations ago and when i married i kept my maiden name which is French this is why I like the spelling Maude as opposed to Maud. It also goes well with the names of my other 2 children, Iris and Eli. Honest opinions as it is looking very likely for baby 3.
Also found this name, it looks beautiful written down but i have never seen or heard it spoken before reading it the other day it is Eileithyia, apparently a goddess of fertility. Any ideas?

Love Maude :D

True it does go with your other kids names.
It sounds nice with Evangeline.
I only think of Maude Flanders from the Simpsons though, so I don't like it.

I think Maude is a very ugly name - sorry. It's so depressing sounding to me. I don't care for Evangeline, either (too close to vaseline). Plus, I don't think the combo flows. And Eileithyia looks very sloppy, and would cause spelling/pronunaction problems, for sure.
I love Maude :D
Maude Evangline looks (and sounds) beautiful, I'm half French so I prefer the spelling Maude too, Although I prefer it as a nn for Mathilde.
Are you on the babycentre board? You girls names look really familiar
Eileithyia sounds pretty but it took me while to work it out :) Is it like Eleathia?

I like this spelling with the "e". Maude just looks prettier written down.
I think I like for someone else's child. Although it's dated in a slightly stuffy way, it could be ready for a comeback. (I don't actually *predict* a widespread comeback, because its sound isn't fashionable just now. But I think it could work.)
Because it's one- syllable, finding a middle name that flows is difficult, and I don't think Evangeline does. Maude Evangelina is better imo.

Welcome back.
Maude is not my style at all. Very old fashioned, but to me without class.
Evangeline is pretty tough. Evangeline Lily (actress) goes by Evie which I find cute.
I love Iris and Eli, but Maude isn't a nice addition to that. Why not Evangeline for a first name or another vowel name?
I don't know how Eileithyia is pronouced but the way I'm saying it(Eel-lye-thee-ah) sounds okay, but nobody would ever know how to say it and the spelling looks very made-up.
Sorry. It belongs in fantasy stories.
