[Opinions] Julia

I love the name Julia, but I don't see why it has to have a nn. It's a short enough name to not need one.
Julia is quite beautiful, simple, and elegant. It'll suit any age, and it'll age well.
I don't think nicknames should be planned by the parents, but should be left up to the child. So, you may not like Ju or Jules, but maybe she would. And, maybe you like Lia, but maybe she wouldn't. Or, maybe she would just like to go by Julia, and no nickname(s). Whatever the child's decision, you should support it (I don't mean to preach, so please don't take it that way). Anyway, I only know one Julia, and she goes by Julie. I've yet to hear the nicknames Ju, Jules, or Lia, anyway.
