I don't know about TEYA, all I found was TEJA, but this may be an alternative spelling.
TEJA was a 6th cent. Gothic king, his name is of uncertain origin.
It is also said to be a Hungarian variant of Teresa.

Thank you! I know that Teya is a name in its own right, but you're right, it may be a modern variant.
