Help[Opinions] Twins
My husband and I are looking for names for a set of twins, a boy and a girl, judging from the polls I posted we need some help, :) We really like the name Tatton Phoenix for a boy nn Tate, but I'm curious what you all think of that. As far as a girl, we have no real ideas, we like Lorelei, Maeleigh (a combo of my mn and his mn), and Hannah, but Hannah seems over used lately. I am open to any suggestions, so fire away! :)

Wouldn't use Maeleigh
Seeing the name Maeleigh instantly made me think of "male", although it's cute in concept to combine middle names. It's also pretty difficult to spell correctly, and she might get tired of having to spell it out for anyone who heard her name. I personally would not combine the two, and just use either one as a middle name for Hannah or Lorelei (like Hannah Leigh or Lorelei Mae... both very pretty names.)
As for the boy, I think Tatton is too easily made fun of. (Think of the female anatomy.) He's bound to be called "Tatty" (or something worse) at some point, which also means "potato" in Scotland. Tate would be a better choice. And naming someone after a place is nms, personally.

I'm not a fan of Tatton, but Tate is a great name, so I suggest Tate Phoenix - it's a nice name.

I met a little girl named Meili once. I've loved the name ever since. Her parents were of Asian descent. I think it's neat to combine two names, but it's really the sound, not the spelling that you're using. So... I think another spelling would look... umm... nicer. Maeleigh is long and difficult to spell. Here are some alternatives:

Tatton is ehh, okay. Just Tate would be preferable to me. If you must have Tatton nn Tate, I think that's fine; but a tad strange -- to the point of being slightly distracting. Phoenix as a mn is alright, but it's a name I think should be used when the symbol of the phoenix has a particular meaning for you that relates to the kid. Otherwise it seems a little fanciful.
Maeleigh is alright, but the spelling looks like it could become inconvenient .. a lot of letters for a simple, quaint name. I'd spell it Mae-Lee or perhaps Maylee. Lorelei is nice. Hannah used to be a fave of mine; now I feel like it is a bit plain and has has a slight Old Testament air about it, which isn't my style, but I still think it's a beautiful name.
I'd pair twin Lorelei with Tatton nn Tate.

Lorelei Maeleigh and Lorelei Hannah are cute combos. I love the name Hannah, but it's so popular now unfortunately. It would be ok to use it as a mn though.

I like Hannah Maeleigh as a fn and mn. Hannah Maeleigh flows very nice but I really like the name Maeleigh for a 1st name too, but Maeleigh Hannah does not flow so well. How about Maeleigh Yvonne Maeleigh Fallon, Maeleigh Mertice or Maeleigh Ellice.
Tatton Phoenix sounds nice and I like the nn Tate.

I don't care for Tatton or Phoenix. Tatton doesn't feel like a name (it looks like a surname, and while I like certain surnames, this one doesn't work for me, unless it's a family surname, and then I would suggest using it as the middle name), and Phoenix isn't a name to me, but a place: Phoenix, Arizona. Overall, the name has a trendy - "I want my child's name to stand out" feel to it.
I don't care for Lorelei - it looks sloppy. While I like the idea of combining parents names to form a name, Maeleigh looks very jumbled and sloppy. I'm assuming your middle name is Mae, and your husband's middle name is Leigh? In that case, I would suggest Mae as the first name, and Leigh as the second name (although I prefer Mae as a middle name, and you could have one-first name, and two-middle names, the two being Mae and Leigh). I don't care for Hannah; it's my middle name, and I hate it.

Tatton reminds me of tit for tat... Tatty is horrible, sorry. It's not the worst name, but I'm not a fan. I like Phoenix, though.
