I think it is a personal thing with what the parents want. It was very popular in the 1900s to give twins these kind of names. I have noticed some parents are shying away from it lately. I myself think it is fun to hear twinny names and I believe some twins enjoy being a twin and having these simular twinny type names.
The other day I remembered another set of twins I knew years ago named GiGi and Bobbi. They were hungarian and I don't know what their full names were but I think the nns GiGi and Bobbi are cute twinny names. Not too much alike but catchy.

What do you think about giving twins ryming or very similar names?
I don't like it when ppl do that. Sure they are twins, but let's not forget that they are 2 different ppl, with 2 different personalities. They should be given different names.

That is a nice idea, they have a connection with their names then, it's just not so obvious to everyone, which doesn't have to be a bad thing.

Not overly keen on the idea of anagrams, they are usually too similar for my liking. I don't mind a theme, like flower or gem names, as long as it isn't too over done.

1. Tracy and Stacy? No, thanks. However, I don't object to names that start with the same letter, like Rebecca and Robert, for example.
2. I would probably use this one. All in all, I dislike the so-called twinny names, but I also think names should show in a way that the two kids are connected in a stronger way than "normal" siblings are. I believe it's only a matter of naming intelligence that you do this in a disturbing, or an almost unnoticed way.

What do you think about giving twins ryming or very similar names? I think it's very trashy. Just because they are twins don't make them the same person. They are individuals and should be treated as such.

I'm absolutely against it. Names like Rose or Daisy (flower theme), or Hannah and Vanna (rhyming theme), or the same name, but in different versions, or anagrams are horrible for twins. Twins already share so much with one another, so why plague them with similar names? It's cruel, I think, and parents think naming twins are a game, which it isn't.

I don't like giving twins rhyming names or names that are really similar. I think that it takes away from the fact that they are individuals. There are thousands of names out there. I think that it's ok to use the same first letter as long as they have very different sounds.
As for the same meaning, I don't think it's a horrible thing as long as the parents really love both names, and the same goes for the theme names. It is a bit much sometimes, but at least they don't sound exactly the same.

Rhyming: Ugh, no. Bad idea. Too silly for the names of two real, individual people. What if they turn out to be very well-differentiated or even dislike each other? It'd be cloying and annoying, even embarrassing to have names that rhyme.
Same meaning: is fine only if it is not too obvious ~ I think, say, Hannah and Grace are okay, or Erica and Heather. I think that giving twins rhyming names or similar names can be confusing, what if they were in the same class together and were identical twins, the teacher and their class mates will get very confused
I think giving them a name with the same meaning would be fine as long as both names were somewhat common, so people wouldn't get confused with pronouncition and the child wouldnt get made fun oof

Don't really like the first one. I think it kind of ties the twins together when, at times, they may just want to be theirselves. I agree with the others, though, in theory.
