Melissa is just nmsaa, for several reasons most notably that its very common for my age range (I'm 20, which also kind of dates it in my mind) and no matter what you say, someone is going to call her Missy (which I hate & think is trashy). What about Elisabeth with the nn Lis or Lissie?
